New Orleans Mission Trip -- January 10 - 17, 2015 -- JOIN US!
Yep....still plenty to do in New Orleans (NOLA). There are an estimated 500-600 homeowners in NOLA who still want to come home ...but home is still not an option NINE years after Hurricane Katrina. Imagine being out of your home for nine years.....
Consider running away from the cold winter (for we northerners) this January and using your gifts and talents to honor God through service to others. Steve Simpson will lead a construction crew at Trinity Lutheran Church on North Claiborne; other construction teams will be spread across the city rebuilding and restoring; outreach volunteers will share the the joy of Jesus Christ at select venues throughout the greater New Orleans area.
Chicago area volunteers will depart SATURDAY, JANUARY 10 and spend the night in Memphis complete with opening worship and dinner. Sunday morning will find us enroute to NOLA to meet up with our friends from across the country at Camp Restore. Monday through Friday are work days, with a mid-afternoon departure from NOLA and an overnight in Memphis. Chicago area volunteers will arrive home early evening on Saturday, January 17.
