Good morning to you all!
Welcome to Sugar-beet harvest 2020 - I had a orientation today but someone (me) forgot to bring a social security card with them.Thank God that the folks said a email will be ok with it or a fax,I have not carried that in years.
So goods news as of today I will be on the 8am to 8pm shift ,and the property I will be at is like 5 miles from my location!!
Ok so some may think what are you thinking Lark??? Well as most of you are aware I retired from the fire department last year in September and was hired by a local electrical contractor in November of 2019 and then laid off in February and I did not hear anything from them till August of 2020! WOW I'm thrilled I was recontacted , but already made these plans 2 months prior and they were ok with that and God willing they will have work for me when I return..Terry and I have thought that some day maybe we would like to do what they call workamp (work camper) so this is one of the opportunities that arose and we agreed that it could be good. Did I mention it's short term and can possible earn 4k in 3 weeks or more, yes long days and 7 days a week but hey then I can say i've done that..(LOL)
Tomorrow I will do field training and maybe get some pictures then but right now its the calm before the storm so I will take advantage of that!
I'll include a video from youtube so you all can check it out it's kinda interesting the history behind it and how the sugar is made.
